Anisotropic meshes for HCurl conforming elements on a curved surface.

Hi All,

I have a quick question concerning the anisotropic prism elements described here (Mesh Size and Refinement — NGS-Py 6.2.2302 documentation). Are they available between curved surfaces e.g. between two concentric spheres?

Additionally, will such discretisations also work with the HCurl element type? I’m interested in using them for eddy current type problems with small skin depths.

Thanks for the help.
James

Hi James,

yes, the HCurl space supports (anisotropic) prismatic elements, useful for shields and boundary layers.

Thin layers between curved surfaces are supported. I guess the spherical shell is a problem (since there are no identified edges), but two hemi-spheres should work.
